Queer Blue
#88ace0
Cooler, deeper periwinkle blue for quiet emphasis
About Queer Blue
I keep noticing how Queer Blue reads like a bright sky tint that's been pulled toward lavender without losing its blue backbone. It's lighter than the periwinkle-leaning Old World, and it doesn't have Birdie Num Num's softer warmth that makes the purple show up late. Compared with Fly Away, it feels more evenly blue from edge to edge, not settled into that periwinkle-to-mauve compromise.
For me it's the one you reach for when you need a clear secondary accent in light product UI, especially where labels, toggles, or notification states have to feel crisp but friendly. It lands well in dashboards and finance apps, and it also holds up in editorial and SaaS marketing cards where you want the purple family read without turning clinical or misty. The mood is buoyant and slightly playful, with a cool undertone that stays visible over white panels.
Pair it with clean neutrals and restrained purple steps; if you stack it next to icy blues, it can start looking more "washed denim" than intended.
