Makin It Rain
#88bb55
Midsummer yellow-green that balances depth and brightness
About Makin It Rain
Makin It Rain reads like a rain-soaked leaf, greener than Grinch Green but without that honeyed snap you get from Dollar Bill. On my screen it lands medium-light and softly saturated, with a fresh, slightly cool undertone that feels more "wet growth" than "dry lawn." Compared to Frog on a Log, it's a touch more lively and less calm, but it still avoids the punchy brightness that makes Citrus feel too sunny.
I reach for it when the UI needs a green that feels current, not playful. It's great for logistics and fleet status highlights, manufacturing quality check tiles, and green-coded alerts in field service dashboards. In product surfaces, it works for "available now" and progress indicators where you want clarity over cheer. If you're designing for screens that have a lot of text and mild gray UI chrome, this shade holds up without turning flat.
Quirk: pair it carefully with very warm yellows or it can start to look a little washed. Cool grays and clean off-whites keep it crisp, while deeper charcoals give it more weight.
