Knock on Wood
#9f9b84
Light khaki-green for calm UI sections, cooler than sage
About Knock on Wood
Knock on Wood looks like the inside of a clean wood cabinet after daylight hits it. It's a muted green-gray that reads steadier than the warmer, more obviously olive-leaning A Frond in Need, and it doesn't have Bonsai Garden's near-invisible, slightly cooler restraint. Compared to Mohalla's dusty softness, this one holds onto more green presence, without drifting as far toward beige.
I like it as a long-scroll background where UI needs to feel alive but calm, especially in wellness apps and healthcare dashboards. It works well for editorial panels in long-form reading, too, where you want contrast without harshness. I reach for it when the layout has to support cream typography and warm neutrals, and you want a green that doesn't compete with content.
One quick note: because it sits in the greener part of the family, it can look a touch warmer beside gray. Test it with your type and one secondary accent before you lock the theme.
