About Dragon’s Blood

The first time I drop Dragon's Blood onto a UI preview, it looks like a dark berry stain under warm light, not a clean red-orange glow. It's punchy but controlled, with a deeper, slightly wine-leaning undertone that keeps it from reading like ' restless in-between. Compared to , it doesn't feel as grim or mechanical. Compared to , it's richer and more saturated, with less softness and more bite.

I reach for it in alerts and high-priority UI where you want urgency without the flat "warning red" feeling. It holds up in dashboards and finance apps that need strong emphasis on critical metrics, plus health platforms where states like "failed check" or "needs review" should look decisive. It also works in food and beverage branding for product badges, especially when the rest of the palette is muted.

Pair it with charcoal, toasted tan, or near-black for depth. On near-white it stays readable, but next to it'll look more nuanced instead of louder.
