Communist

Communist is the red that actually commits. It's deeper and less orange than Blood Orange, which means it doesn't apologize or soften, it's pure red with nowhere to hide. Darker than Cartoon Violence too, so it won't bounce off the page or demand your attention through motion. This is the one that sits heavy.

Use it in political branding, protest graphics, institutional mastheads, and editorial work where red needs to carry weight without the casual intensity of Blood Orange or the automotive restraint of Boulevardier. On white it reads serious and unmissable. Against black it stays readable, commanding, not theatrical. This is the red for something that knows exactly what it stands for.

The catch: it can read flat or oppressive if you pair it with anything murky or apologetic. It needs clean company, crisp whites, true blacks, sharp grays. Muddy it and you lose the conviction that makes it work.
