Underpass Shrine
#cc4422
Darker, smoky underpass orange-red with low glare
About Underpass Shrine
Underpass Shrine reads like orange paint that's been lived with and slightly cooled: a brick-warm hue that's deeper and calmer than the sharper "spark" feeling of Fire Bolt, and less candy-red than Mr. Krabs. Compared with Lava Smoothie's softer, juicier warmth, this one lands more grounded. It's still clearly Orange, but the lightness sits a notch lower and the saturation feels trimmed, like it's meant to stay readable under harsh lighting.
I use Underpass Shrine when the UI needs attention without that immediate urgency punch. Think the one you reach for in transit and facility dashboards, parking/entry kiosks, and back-office monitoring screens where status colors show up all day. It also works well on e-commerce ops for exception tags and warehouse route alerts, especially when you're trying to avoid orange drifting toward pink-red in compressed UI states.
Quirk: on very light creams it can feel a touch stricter than the nearby warmer oranges, so I like it alongside soft grays and matte whites rather than buttery off-whites.
