On Thin Ice
#d1e8f1
Icy, desaturated gray-blue for crisp cold accents
About On Thin Ice
On Thin Ice is the gray you see on a frosted window after sunrise: light, but not washed out. It has a calm, subtle cool blue undertone that reads cleaner than Dreamstress, even though it's still soft. Compared to Ice Cold, it's less sharp and less "icy," more breathy at the edges. And next to Cityscape, it feels lighter and quieter, with less surface substance.
I use it for light UI surfaces where you want structure without that near-white glare. Think medical admin screens, onboarding stepper backgrounds, and the pale panels behind tables in SaaS. It's great for card gutters in fintech and canvas areas in design software when you need breathing room but still want the layout to feel held together.
Quirk: because it's so airy, pair it with slightly darker grays for dividers and type blocks, or it can make spacing feel floaty instead of grounded.
