About Jet d’Eau

Jet d'Eau is the kind of pale gray you notice in a chilled glass right before condensation starts to blur the label. It looks airy like Airy, but it doesn't drift all the way toward near-white, and unlike Castle in the Sky it carries a touch more green-cool presence instead of staying purely balanced.

For me, it's a go-to surface in light mode dashboards and healthcare interfaces where you want clean calm without that subtle warmth that can creep in from softer, cream-leaning grays. The value reads light at a glance, yet the slight cyan undertone keeps it from feeling flat next to typographic contrast, especially in secondary panels, form backgrounds, and notification shells. This is the one you reach for when you need a background that feels fresh, not washed out.

Pair it with cooler mid-grays for cohesion. If you put it next to warmer whites, it can feel more minty than neutral, so pick your whites deliberately.
