About Teardrop
Teardrop is the kind of light gray you notice after you swipe a page and the background feels almost creamy, not icy. It sits in the same family space as the other airy teals, but this one reads softer and slightly warmer than Queen of Waves and doesn't lean mint-forward like Mint Chip.
Compared with Starship Tonic, Teardrop keeps its gentler softness instead of turning crisp or gray-blue. I use it when I want a calm base for dashboards and finance apps, especially in account screens, document side panels, and read-only views where typography needs contrast without looking like it's on a freezer shelf. It also works well for healthcare portals and telecom admin UIs where forms should feel clean, not sterile.
One quirk: put it next to very teal-adjacent grays and it won't look frosty. Pairing with a cool white makes it look even more the one you reach for when the UI needs to feel calm, light, and just a touch nurturing.
