Timid White
#d9d6cf
Drier warm-white gray, calmer than Athena
About Timid White
Timid White looks like the first layer of daylight on a plaster wall. It's clearly in the gray family, but it feels gentler and less "architectural" than Athena or Skyvory, and it won't drift into that warmer, softer tan direction you get from Bone-adjacent notes.
Compared with Athena's balanced structure, Timid White is even lighter and slightly more muted, so UI chrome and long text both feel calmer. It's a great fit for publishing layouts, product documentation, and SaaS dashboards and admin panels where you need plenty of page air without making cards and tables fight the background. Use it in e-commerce categories and editorial templates too, especially when photography has highlights that would otherwise glare.
One caution: because it sits close to white, it can flatten contrast if you keep everything at the same tone. Pair it with crisper line weights and off-whites that have more body, and it stays the one you reach for when you want "quiet" without going blank.
