Martian Colony
#e5750f
Dusty, concentrated orange for high-contrast warning blocks
About Martian Colony
I keep Martian Colony in my "stop it from going too citrus" drawer. It lands deeper and drier than Clementine, with more red pulled in, so it doesn't feel like fresh fruit juice. Compared to 24 Carrot, it turns more dusty and less fired-clay warm, and it's not as wet-snapped as Orange Crush.
The undertone reads reddish orange with a desert edge, which makes it great for food e-commerce moments that need momentum without looking like a promo sticker. I use it for hero banners, product-launch key visuals, and capsule drop CTAs where you want the eye to move, especially in retail and travel media. It feels right for "new route" and "next batch" cards too, because it doesn't tip into alarm heat. I'll pair it with charcoal UI text or off-white panels so the tone stays crisp, not muddied.
One quirk: on very warm backgrounds it can flatten fast, so I reach for cooler neutrals or a darker border to keep it structured. It's the one you reach for when orange needs grit, not gloss.
