Tonkatsu
#edac36
Golden-green mustard shade, softer than nearby chartreuse
About Tonkatsu
I keep thinking of tonkatsu sauce on a cardboard tray: glossy, amber-forward, and a little more orange than the cheerful yellows nearby. Tonkatsu lands in that warm green family but doesn't go "pure yellow first" like Cheesy Cheetah. It's also not the dry, leaf-gold feel of Quercitron. Compared to Groovy Giraffe's friendly mustard punch, this one holds its heat a bit longer and reads slightly deeper, with a richer golden-orange undertone.
For UI work, I use it for product highlight sections and purchase-focused UI controls when I want emphasis without drifting into amber-gold clutter. It's strong in ecommerce category headers for food brands, deli-style packaging accents, and on dashboards where you need a the one you reach for highlight that still feels grounded. In marketing pages, it's great for callout pills and limited-offer badges on off-whites and warm grays.
Quirk: because it leans orange, pair it carefully with very green backgrounds. If everything is too saturated, the gold edge can blur. A slightly cooler neutral keeps Tonkatsu crisp.
