Birch White
#f6eedf
Soft birch white with subtle cool gray undertone
About Birch White
Birch White reads almost neutral until you put it next to true white, then you see it's got a whisper of gray underneath, not warmth. It's lighter and cooler than Beaches of Cancun (which announces itself as golden), and it's got more substance than Bianca (which barely exists). This is the one that doesn't try. It just disappears into the work.
Reach for it when you need a soft background that won't compete but also won't feel sterile. Works in editorial layouts, SaaS interfaces, and publishing platforms where readability matters and the content should own the room. Dark type snaps cleanly. Photography doesn't get pushed around. Unlike Blank Canvas, which carries a noticeable warmth, this one stays cooler, there's restraint baked in.
Pair it with mid-tone grays and warm black for balance. The coolness means it sits better with neutral palettes than the warmer grays around it, but test it on your actual screen first. Calibration shifts can push it slightly warmer or cooler than expected.
