Straw Gold
#fcf679
Sunlit golden yellow-gray for gentle highlights
About Straw Gold
Straw Gold looks like the light you catch on a grain sack right before it turns honey, not like a flat highlight. Compared to Banana, it has more presence and tighter yellow, so it doesn't feel like it's hiding under the interface. And unlike Light Yellow, it's richer and more golden, with less of that softened, daylight-washed calm.
I use it when the UI needs warmth that still reads intentional. It's great for dashboards and finance apps that want sections, pills, and charts to feel inviting without shouting the way Butter can. It also works well behind product media in e-commerce, retail promo banners, and logistics onboarding flows where you want a "sunlit" backdrop that keeps text separation feeling clean.
One quirk: keep your surrounding grays slightly warmer than neutral, or Straw Gold can start to look too separate from the rest of the palette.
