Hornet Sting
#ff0033
Neon alarm orange-red with magenta bite for alerts
About Hornet Sting
Hornet Sting looks like a red-hot warning stripe that still has manners. It's not as candy-syrup deep as Cherry Soda, and it doesn't burn as sharp and orange-forward as British Phone Booth. Compared to both, this one is slightly lighter and more saturated in a cleaner, punchier way, so the heat reads as immediate action instead of density or urgency.
I use it for priority notifications and hero action buttons in e-commerce and entertainment interfaces where you need stopping power that doesn't tip into neon or screaming alarm. Think logistics control rooms, live event apps, and storefront promos that must feel urgent without looking hostile. It also plays nicely with dense UI textures because the tone stays consistent.
Pair it with cream or off-white to keep the warmth crisp. On charcoal it can go a bit stricter, so if you're relying on it for "go now" emphasis, test both backgrounds before you lock the palette.
