Smashing Pumpkins
#ff5522
Smoky red-orange accent with firmer ember depth
About Smashing Pumpkins
Smashing Pumpkins looks like the orange you get when a bright signal catches on a slightly smoky screen protector. It's hot enough to feel energized, but it's not the darker, ember-thick weight of Molten Core, and it doesn't carry Carrot Lava's deeper, teeth-out saturation. Compared to Orange Clown Fish, it's less highlighter and less friendly-highlight thin. This one lands more light, punchy, and orange-forward, with a smoother undertone that feels assertive instead of flaring.
I use Smashing Pumpkins in dashboards and finance apps when you need a secondary accent that reads "active" or "in progress" without tipping into warning territory. It also works in gaming interfaces for loot tier highlights and step-by-step quest progress, where you want momentum, not heat depth. Compared with the neighbors, it keeps its clarity at small sizes so chips and pills don't feel aggressive like Carrot Lava, or sinking like Molten Core.
On very dark UIs, keep it paired with slightly cooler grays so it doesn't drift toward a harsh, close-to-red signal.
