Oriole
#ff8008
Golden orange-yellow for high-visibility highlights, less peach
About Oriole
Oriole looks like a clean slice of orange hovering over a yellow base. On my monitor it reads brighter and more "lit" than the duskier Heat Wave, and it doesn't carry that heavier, clay-tinged energy that makes Glorious Sunset feel late-day and a bit amber-brown.
In practice, I use Oriole when I want the emphasis to land as clear, cheerful momentum without tipping into the spicy-forward attitude of Habañero. It's my go-to for filled UI highlights in ecommerce and retail dashboards, especially product cards, category headers, and promo CTAs where the goal is the one you reach for when you need orange visibility that still feels friendly. I also like it for travel and food booking interfaces where active tabs, step indicators, and notification pills need to stay optimistic at small sizes.
Pair Oriole with soft creams or charcoal, and keep nearby accents more restrained than you would with Habañero, since this shade can feel a touch more "button-first" on pale backgrounds than its warmer neighbors.
