Haunted Hills

Haunted gloom for low-light charts and sidebars
About Haunted Hills
Haunted Hills feels like moss on wet slate right before a storm, but it doesn't go so sooty that it turns neutral. It's a deep green that reads unmistakably green at first glance, then settles into a slightly haunted, cooler murk. Compared to Dark Serpent and Darkest Forest, it's less "specimen label" serious and less forest-shadow haze. This one holds its green identity more firmly, with a cleaner, tighter undertone than Deep Pond.
I use it as the primary dark surface for environmental tech and utility operations products where you want hierarchy without slipping toward near-black. It's great for map legend backgrounds and panel headers in forestry and watershed monitoring dashboards, plus status blocks in field maintenance and compliance workflows. Dark Serpent and Darkest Forest both work for serious UI, but Haunted Hills has a more atmospheric pull, so it works harder on cards and side panels that need weight without looking oily.
Pair it with crisp off-whites and cool grays. Warm creams make it feel heavier and less "alive" than you probably want.
