Pitch-Black Forests
#003322
Near-black evergreen depth for hard contrast side panels
About Pitch-Black Forests
Step behind a chain-link fence at dusk and look at the black-green shadow where wet leaves meet compacted soil. Pitch-Black Forest is that exact moment, but with a cleaner, heavier ink than the mossy coolness of Haunted Hills or the damp-slate drift of Haunted Forest.
It's a true green that's been turned down hard, not a sooty olive and not a misty hush. Compared to Dark Serpent, it holds more forest pigment and feels less "specimen label" serious, while staying closer to near-black than Haunted Hills does. I use it as the primary dark surface for environmental tech and utility operations UI where you still need green identity in the hierarchy, like map panel headers, legend backgrounds, and status blocks for field maintenance and compliance workflows.
Pair it with crisp cool grays and restrained off-whites. Warm creams pull it toward heavier, mud-like depth fast, so I keep the neutrals chilly to preserve the pitch-dark clarity.
