Dark Serpent
#113311
Muted, smoky green for sober data cards
About Dark Serpent
You see Dark Serpent most clearly in the thin shadow under a dense hedge after late-day rain. It's not the hazy hush of Darkest Forest and it doesn't have Deep Pond's cool-water density. This one feels slightly more grounded and controlled, with a muted, almost sooty saturation that stays green instead of sliding toward olive.
I use Dark Serpent when you need a dark surface that still reads unmistakably green, but less "forest" and more "specimen label" serious. It's my the one you reach for dark header and panel tone for conservation data portals, park compliance dashboards, and field-tech ticketing UIs where text must stay crisp and the UI hierarchy must not drift into near-black. It also works for map legend backgrounds and status capsules in utility management and environmental monitoring apps, especially when the rest of the palette leans crisp off-whites and cool grays.
One quirk: pair it with warm creams and it can tip murky fast, so keep neutrals on the cooler side.
