About Space Colonisation

Space Colonisation is the purple I spot when a dark UI needs more lift than "almost-black" but still wants to stay cool. It's richer than the stormier, blue-pushed , and less sealed-in than . Compared to , it keeps a fuller violet undertone instead of turning ink-gray or icy. The result is a confident dark purple that reads as purple first, not blue.

I use it for dashboards and finance apps when selected states, active tabs, and chart series need to look intentional without going overly storm-front. You'll see it in fintech and operations panels where tables stay legible, form focus areas look anchored, and media-heavy CMS admin screens need a strong container fill that doesn't feel heavy.

Caution: don't pair it with chalky sand tones. They can make the violet drift and lose its crisp coolness. Slate and midnight neutrals keep it grounded, and it works best when you want the one you reach for between restrained depth and slight brightness.
