Nautilus
#273c5a
Balanced mid indigo violet for calmer navigation headers
About Nautilus
Nautilus reads like a deep ink-blue violet that stays composed under UI lighting. It's not the weighty, slightly earthy darkness of Black Turmeric, and it doesn't drift as cool and controlled as Dark & Stormy. Compared to Nightlife, it's less "lit" at the edges and more grounded, with a softer sense of depth.
Use it when you need a purple that feels anchored, not steel-blue, and still holds its identity on dark headers. I reach for dashboards and finance apps where the brand wants purple but the layout needs calm hierarchy, especially in fintech reporting, health tech admin panels, and analytics pages with dense tables. For buttons, selected states, and high-visibility chart series, Nautilus lands as cooler than warm violets without turning into muted navy.
Pair it with crisp whites and restrained blues or soft grays. If you go too warm on the neutrals, it can start to look dull, like the purple has been pushed back behind the typography.
