Chocolate Rush
#4e1b0b
Deep cocoa brown-orange for grounded contrast blocks
About Chocolate Rush
Chocolate Rush is what happens when you go darker and leaner than Couch, strip away the lived-in warmth and you get something closer to pure cocoa, almost no red left to soften it. It's flatter than Cherry Picking's approachable punch, meaner than Bitter Chocolate's studied refusal to perform. This one just sits there, dense and uncompromising.
Reach for it in dark product photography, luxury packaging, and high-end cosmetics where you need a brown that reads as intentional severity, not coziness. It'll hold its own against black, deep grays, and white without the warmth bleeding into terracotta the way Couch does on certain backgrounds. Unlike Bitter Chocolate's complete flatness, there's still enough earth tone here to feel grounded instead of cold.
The catch: pair it tight. Against cream or warm neutrals it'll shift noticeably, so you're using it against cool grays, black, or pure white if you want the color to stay honest. It's not flexible. It's not supposed to be.
