Shadow Purple
#4e334e
Muted deep violet for low-key, magenta-shadow UI
About Shadow Purple
On my screen, Shadow Purple reads like a deeper plum-bloom that still stays soft. It's noticeably more muted and weighty than the clearer, friendlier purple-pink neighbors, with a restrained saturation that avoids the sharper "grape punch" feel. Compared to Murasaki, it holds more shadow in the midtones, so it doesn't look as skin-warm or controlled.
I use Shadow Purple when the UI needs to look purple without drifting into dark ink. It's my go-to for selected states and hover rings in creator portals, streaming media apps, and retail dashboards where chips and filter pills sit on lighter surfaces. Where Purple Prose feels lifted and social, this one stays calmer and heavier, and it doesn't carry the cooler authority of Imperial Purple.
Pair it with warm grays, cocoa browns, or soft cream. Cool steel or very pale blues can flatten it and make it feel bruised instead of anchored.
