Wizard’s Potion
#5d6098
Deeper indigo-violet, balanced warmth for grounded contrast
About Wizard’s Potion
Wizard's Potion looks like a purple you'd find in the corner of a motion design timeline, right after the blue keyframe locks in and the whole thing feels slightly misted. It's a cooler violet than Scampi and Bellflower, but it has more depth than Piccadilly Purple, so it doesn't feel washed out or merely "settled." The undertone reads restrained, with a soft pull toward indigo that keeps it from turning magenta.
I use it for focus states and active selections in SaaS tables where you want hierarchy without the urgency of a brighter accent. It also holds up in video editing timelines and creator dashboards, especially for clip tags, segment markers, and progress chips on light surfaces. Compared to Bellflower, it's less airy and more dimensional, and compared to Piccadilly Purple, it carries more weight without going dark and brooding like plums.
Pair it with clean off-whites or pale grays; if you drop it next to warmer lavender tones, it can feel a bit stricter than you expect. Keep your supporting purples consistent so the UI doesn't look split-brained.
