Queens of the Dead
#652793
Mourning violet with muted, dusty magenta undertone
About Queens of the Dead
Queens of the Dead lands in that purple lane where it feels darker than a control-accent, but not as bruised as Purple Heart. I see it as more restrained and slightly smoky, with a cooler violet core that reads richer on dark surfaces. Compared to Lucid Dreams' softened velvet and Intergalactic Settlement's drier, cooler authority, this one holds its pigment a bit longer, staying close to plum without tipping magenta heat.
I use it when the UI needs a confident primary accent that still looks "intentional" next to neutrals. Think media player timelines (chapter markers, hover scrubs), streaming app status chips, and command surfaces in creator tools where selection states need to pop without sounding like neon. It also works well for data-dense dashboards and finance apps when you want a deeper focus ring that doesn't feel heavy like the rounder purples nearby.
Quirk: on very warm off-whites it can look slightly muted, so I usually keep the surrounding text neutral-cool and let it breathe.
