Liver
#654a46
Muted orange-brown with dusty gray warmth
About Liver
Liver looks like a browned paper towel after a slow simmer: steely, muted, and a little more somber than the richer chocolate browns around it. It sits in the orange family but pulls toward a muted, gray-leaning earth, so it never feels as freshly "cooked" as Death by Chocolate or as openly brown and dense as Dark Chocolate.
What I like is how it holds its ground in layouts that need restraint. For packaging in food and personal care, it reads as grounded back-of-house brown instead of a loud headline color. In UI, it works well on product detail panels and sidebar sections where you want warm depth without tipping into heavy, and it pairs cleanly with bone, oat, or a muted copper accent. Compared to Brunette, it's less caramel-friendly and more dusty, with lower brightness.
Quick note: keep it away from flat cool grays and very pale creams with a blue cast. Liver will look even grayer there, and you'll lose the subtle orange warmth that makes the one you reach for feel intentional.
