Heavy Brown
#73624a
Richer earth-brown olive for grounded charts, less gold
About Heavy Brown
Heavy Brown always reads like the inside pocket of a well-worn jacket. Not olive, not rust, more a dense earth-brown that's got just enough green-family depth to feel rooted. Compared to Autumn Gold, it's less sunlit and less "vintage book" warm, and compared to Handmade it's rounder and heavier, with a stronger brown pull and less steady paper-dye calm.
In UI terms, this is the shade I'd trust behind sections that need substance without turning muddy: heritage product sites, editorial system backgrounds, and label and packaging templates where brown warmth matters but you don't want the brighter, more communicative tone of Autumn Gold. It also works well in craft and outdoor brand UI, especially for sidebars, metadata bars, and dense supporting text areas, where it feels warmer and more grounded than cooler greens like Handmade.
Quick caution: Heavy Brown can swallow nearby low-contrast grays, so I like it paired with warm creams or softer ink-black rather than pale, chalky tones.
