Veil of Cinder
#784f50
Softer, smoky cinder-brown orange for subdued warmth
About Veil of Cinder
Veil of Cinder looks like an orange-brown smoke wash over clay, not a clean brick or a bright carrot. It's slightly deeper and more muted than Red Elegance, so you lose that denser red clarity, and it doesn't go dusty like Sly Fox. Compared with Root Beer, it feels a bit more shadowed and less foamy-warm, closer to dried ember than fresh roast.
In UI, this is the shade I use when I need the one you reach for that still reads deliberate, not alert. It shows up as section labels and callout accents in e-commerce and subscription products, plus dashboards and finance apps for "earned" states like completed tasks or reviewed items. For print, it's strong in packaging systems for coffee, hearth goods, and tea where you want warmth with restraint.
Quirk: on very pale backgrounds it can tip heavier and slightly grayer, so it plays nicest with sand creams, warm charcoals, or soft off-white neutrals.
