Netherworld
#881111
Deep brick red with Netherworld warmth and shadow
About Netherworld
Netherworld reads like a heavy, muted red pulled through a dim filter. It's not rusty-warm like Indian Red, and it doesn't stay icy and shut off the way Bloodthirsty does. Compared to Barbera, it gives up that wine-body and purple depth. Instead, it's a deep, slightly murky orange-red that feels more smothered than refined.
I use it when I need red that still signals urgency, but won't shout in dashboards and finance apps or marketing UI that has to stay readable under a lot of UI chrome. It also works well for packaging and brand systems that want an "under control" heat for consumer goods, especially where you'd normally reach for Indian Red but find it too outward.
Pair it with warm creams, dark charcoals, and oxidized brass. If your background is too warm, it can look dirtier than you expect, so keep surrounding neutrals balanced.
