Petrified Purple
#9c87c1
Deeper, cooler periwinkle-purple for focused UI highlights
About Petrified Purple
Petrified Purple is what I see when a bright periwinkle gets pulled slightly deeper and dusted, like pigment that's been pressed into paper instead of floating on top. It stays clearly purple, but it's less airy than Enchanted Lilac and less glassy than Fleur-De-Lis. Compared with Magic Carpet, it commits more consistently to the purple side, with a sturdier, more settled look.
In practice, I use it for dashboards and finance apps where you need a calm brand tint that still reads as a real surface color, not a soft highlight layer. Think selected states, status chips, chart series labels, and onboarding callouts in fintech and edtech. It's also strong for product UI screenshots and explainer frames because it holds its identity against light UI neutrals without feeling powdery.
Pair it with crisp grays or slightly warmer off-whites so it doesn't look too chilly, and if you put it next to near-lilacs that lean bright, it can feel more grounded by comparison. For me, it's the one you reach for when you want purple presence with a muted, "set in" finish.
