Blood Rush
#aa2222
Hot, deep red for urgent accent blocks
About Blood Rush
Blood Rush is the one that actually looks angry. It's deeper than Brick by Brick's approachable clay warmth, but it doesn't have the blue coolness that makes Christmas Red feel intentional or composed. This is saturated and genuinely hot, the kind of red that reads as aggression first, not design choice.
Reach for it in gaming UIs, music and entertainment branding, and high-stakes interfaces where you need to feel the temperature. It lands on alert buttons, premium gaming cards, streaming app call-to-actions. Against white it doesn't ask permission. Against black it gets darker, more coiled. It works harder than Chilli Pepper in bright contexts because it carries that saturation without the depth that makes Chilli read almost maroon on warm backgrounds.
The thing: it sits right in that middle ground where the undertone matters more than lightness. Pair it with charcoal, dark navy, or deep gray and it stays sharp. On cream or warm neutrals it can drift slightly cooler than intended, so know your background. It's the red I reach for when Brick by Brick feels too gentle and Christmas Red feels too considered.
