Red Menace
#aa2121
Deeper crimson-orange for sharp, high-stakes highlights
About Red Menace
Red Menace is the red you see on a loud warning badge that still looks intentional, not angry. It sits slightly lighter than the deeper Blood Rush, but it doesn't shift toward ketchup warmth like Ketchup Later. And compared to Samba's cleaner tomato feel, this one turns more toward a focused, slightly darker menace, with a tighter undertone that reads less painted and more charged.
I use it for high-stakes interfaces where the action must feel urgent without becoming confrontational. Think premium gaming overlays, critical alert states in operations dashboards, and streaming app "must-click" moments where you want the button to pop against dark UI without drifting into maroon. It's the one you reach for when you need red that stays sharp, warmer than the cool reds, yet still carries that "don't ignore this" temperature.
Pair it with near-black, charcoal, or deep navy. On very warm creams, it can start to look a touch less menacing and more brick-like, so control the surrounding neutrals.
