Plastic Lips

Plastic Lips reads like a glossy, candy-red tint with a slightly synthetic sheen. It sits in the Red family but doesn't drift into magenta fire like Murderous Magenta, and it doesn't go the dusky plum route of Plum Kingdom. Compared to Fabric of Love, it's a touch brighter and more noticeably cooler in undertone, so it feels less intimate and more "button-ready."

I use it when you need medium-bright red that still stays controlled. Think dashboards and finance apps where you want a clear callout without the deeper, heavier mood of the plums, or the sharper, more intense punch of magenta-red. It's also a great pick for e-commerce and creator interfaces when you're marking "needs attention" states on dark UIs, since it lands as the one you reach for for visibility that feels designed, not alarmist.

Pair it with neutral greys or cool off-whites so the cooler red side stays readable and doesn't start fighting warm creams.
