Tartan Red

Warmer, medium-deep tart red for sharp UI
About Tartan Red
Tartan Red is the red I notice first on a knit label snagged under warm indoor lights. It's less clay-friendly than Brick by Brick, and it doesn't come off as stop-sign crisp like Upset Tomato. Instead, it reads as a slightly deeper, more controlled red-orange, with a softer saturation that feels intentional without turning ember-dark like Scarlet Blaze.
I use it for primary accents that still need clarity in product interfaces, especially for e-commerce where the "buy now" moment can't feel playful or heavy. Think cosmetics and apparel PDP buttons, promo chips in food and beverage shops, and brand system tokens for checkout and order-tracking states. Compared to its nearby reds, it holds temperature well: not too rosy, not too cool, and it stays legible on light grays without looking washed.
Quirk: on very warm creams it can lean more red than orange, so pair with a cooler neutral or a clean dark text color to keep it from feeling one-note.
