Violaceous lands closer to lilac than bubblegum, but it doesn't feel watery. On a mock screenshot it reads as a pink-purple midsplash with a firmer, more deliberate presence than the softer highlight tones around it.

Compared with La la Love, it's deeper and more saturated, so it actually holds its own next to darker neutrals instead of staying "clean and light." Compared with Dripping Wisteria, it's less damp and plush, more crisp in temperature, and less rounded into that soaked violet vibe. Pastel Violet is lighter and more daylight-soft, while Violaceous keeps its color body and doesn't fade into that gentle in-between.

I use Violaceous for media tiles, creator analytics, and consumer fintech-like surfaces where you want a noticeable accent without going full purple mode. It also works well for selection states, active pill backgrounds, and section headers in brand systems that need the one you reach for when pink has to look intentional and slightly cooler, not airy. If it's sitting on very warm whites, pair it with a cooler off-white or crisp grey so the undertone stays controlled.
