Cedar Chest

Soft cedar red-orange for calmer UI accents
About Cedar Chest
Cedar Chest is the shade that feels like it's been sitting in the sun a little too long, there's a burnt undertone running through it that keeps it from reading as bright or fresh. It's darker and more muted than Campfire, less energetic than Blossoming Dynasty, and it sits warmer than Barbecue without that earthy, grounded feeling. This is oxide and clay, not flame.
You'll land here when you need orange that doesn't feel like it's trying too hard. It works in heritage branding, editorial layouts, and product interfaces where warmth needs to feel authentic instead of trendy. Buttons, section headers, accent backgrounds, places where orange belongs because it earned it, not because it's the loudest thing in the room. Pair it with cream, warm grays, or deep charcoal and it settles in like it's always been there.
The catch: it's got enough desaturation that it can wash out on warm backgrounds. Test it against your actual palette first, especially if you're layering it over anything that's already pulling warm. It works harder on cool or neutral grounds.
