Firebug
#cd5c51
Deeper fire red-coral for urgent, focused accents
About Firebug
Firebug always looks like the orange took a quick detour through a terracotta kiln. It has a mid-light, more smoked warmth than Happy Hearts and it reads less blushy, more ember than cordial. Versus Cedar Chest, the burnt cast is subtler, so you get less sun-faded oxide and more controlled color. And compared to Barbecue, it's higher-energy and cleaner, with fewer grounded rust notes.
I use it when the interface needs orange confidence without going full alert mode. It's great for product landing accents, bold link states, and section highlights in e-commerce and creator platforms, where you want warmth that stays legible over creams. It also holds up well for packaging mockups and editorial callouts that need a stronger orange backbone than Berry-like corals, but without Campfire's punch.
Quirk: because it's fairly saturated for its lightness, it can overpower quiet neutrals. If you're pairing it with warm grays, dial the contrast back with softer overlays so it doesn't feel too pushy.
