Richer ruby red with restrained magenta warmth for UI accents

About Ruby

Ruby looks like a confident red that's been tuned slightly darker and more deliberate than the brighter, pink-leaning alerts. Compared with , it doesn't carry that fresh wet-paint sheen, and compared with , it feels less magenta and more steadfast. The midtone lands firm instead of softened, so it reads like a decision, not a mood.

I use it for chargeback and dispute banners where you want urgency without drifting toward the sweatier pink territory, especially in dashboards and finance apps. It also works well for identity verification hard-fails and "action required" chips in logistics and telecom UIs when the rest of the panel stays neutral. It holds up next to cool grays better than does, because Ruby's undertone stays more centered in red rather than turning heavier.

One small quirk: on already-warm surfaces it can start to feel a bit stern. If your background is beige or sand, nudge it with cleaner neutrals so it stays sharp.
