Paper Hearts
#cc4466
Light, airy pink-red with softer, less assertive punch
About Paper Hearts
Paper Hearts reads like a red that's been gently lifted off the page, not darkened into drama. It's noticeably lighter and a bit more delicate than Dark Pink, with less of that saturated, no-nonsense punch. Compared to Cabaret, it pulls away from the mauve-leaning seriousness and stays cleaner, more purely red in its undertone. And unlike Beetroot Purple, it never goes heavy or weighted.
I use it when the UI needs urgency, but you don't want the whole screen to feel like an incident report: the one you reach for in billing and subscription product flows, customer-support queues, and healthcare intake steps where you're asking for attention, not sounding a full-stop alarm. It also works well in fintech transaction review panels and action buttons on dashboards where the tone should stay readable at small sizes.
Pair it with cool grays or crisp whites, but watch warm creams. On long-form screens, Paper Hearts can start to feel a little pink, so test your neutrals early.
