Chipmunk
#cfa14a
Lighter, calmer chip-toned gold-green for headers
About Chipmunk
Chipmunk is what happens when you pull a warm brown down into gold territory without letting it go full metal. It's darker and more muted than Cheese Wiz, but it doesn't have Canadian Maple's settled earthiness, there's still enough yellow running through it to keep things lively. It lands in that awkward middle ground most colors try to avoid, and that's exactly why it works.
You'll want this on product detail pages, editorial callouts, and dashboard accents where you need something that reads as golden but doesn't feel slick or corporate. It pairs well with warm grays, deep charcoals, and cooler neutrals, but here's the thing: it actually prefers darker backgrounds. On light grounds it can feel a bit flat, so test before you scale it up. Unlike Brass Buttons, which sits forward and demands attention, Chipmunk is the one you reach for when you need something warm without the showiness.
The quirk is saturation. It's got enough to resist flattening, but not so much that it competes with type or imagery. Small and deliberate, a button, an accent, something that needs to land but doesn't need to shout.
