Untamed Red
#dd0022
Darker orange-red heat for alerts needing bite
About Untamed Red
Untamed Red reads like a bite of fresh pigment on a phone screen, not a softened ember and not a traffic-signal orange. Compared to Stoplight and Piercing Red, it holds a deeper, more forceful red core while staying cleaner than the chili-paste vibe of Hot Flamin Chilli. It's also less cooled than Red Pegasus, so it doesn't drop into that slightly restrained feel once it lands on dark UI.
I use it when the action needs to feel immediate but still "red-red" against orange-family neighbors, especially for warehouse exceptions, pharmacy pickup alerts, and high-priority e-commerce tiles. It works hard on promo countdown cards where you want urgency without the midtone drift you'd get from the brighter stoplight-style options. Call it the one I reach for when it must stay assertively red and not start looking orange at a glance. Pair it with charcoal, deep cocoa, or near-black borders so the saturation stays anchored.
Quirk: on very warm lifestyle photography it can feel more confrontational than you expect, so give it a little breathing room or offset with cooler greys.
