About Death of a Star
Death of a Star is the pink I notice when the screen has been glowing for a while and then suddenly turns a notch more lush. It lands mid-light with a punchier, slightly darker presence than Candy Pink, but it doesn't spike into Barbiecore's heavy, burn-forward heat. Compared to Illicit Pink and Drunken Flamingo, it feels more saturated and rounded, less electric and less "off-candy" cool.
I use it for promo moments that need polish without tipping into hot: product launch hero blocks, gaming reward/level badges, and streaming app campaign tiles where you want the callout to feel premium, not chaotic. It also shows up well in fashion and beauty ads as a primary accent over light UI surfaces, especially for icons, small illustrations, and status tags.
Quirk: it pairs best with soft, desaturated partners (powdery neutrals or near-blacks). Side-by-side with the brighter pinks, it reads like the grown-up version, the one that keeps the frame from looking too playful.
