About Deep Fried Sunrays

A bag of fries that's been sitting just long enough to go slightly darker, but not burnt. Deep Fried Sunrays has that toasted golden glow, and it reads more sun-baked than honeyed. Compared to Golden Lion's drier badge-like gold, this one leans richer and more buttery, with a fryer warmth that never turns cream-forward.

In UI, it's the the one you reach for when you want "food heat" without screaming. I've used it for restaurant ordering CTAs, promo badges on grocery and quick-serve sites, and seasoning-flavored landing pages where you're layering photos with restrained greens. It also works well for emphasis chips and small price callouts in e-commerce, especially when Creamy Sweet Corn would feel too gentle.

Quirk: pair it with cool grays or pale creams and it can shift toward a muted, slightly dull signal. Next to deep olive or charcoal, keep a lighter neighbor nearby so the toast-forward gold stays crisp.
