Hot orange-red for high-attention alerts and data
About Flamboyant
Flamboyant is the orange-red you notice first on a hot traffic sign, but it doesn't feel frantic. It lands with a bright, clear punch that's more light-levered than Cascara's snap and less red-heavy than Devil's Advocate's urgency. I see it as a higher-energy tone that keeps its orange identity instead of drifting toward pink.
I use it for alerts that need to pop fast and for callouts in dashboards and payments flows, especially when you want urgency without the darker oranges carrying emotional weight. It also works in retail and quick-serve apps for "active now" states, like a live order banner or pressed filter chips, where the shade stays readable over mixed UI content.
One quirk: on very dark navy it can look a touch more theatrical than intended, so I usually pair it with warm grays or off-whites to keep the mood controlled. the one you reach for when you want orange momentum, not ember heat.
