Deep indigo-purple for crisp, space-grade contrast
About Space Exploration
I keep coming back to Space Exploration when I need a deep purple that doesn't fall into ink-black heaviness. It lands slightly brighter and more saturated than Space Dust, so section titles stay legible without turning into that more royal, firmer lilac punch of Royal. Compared to Cobalt and its warmer blue undertone, this one stays cooler in feel, with a violet bias that reads distinctly purple even in dense layouts.
In practice it shows up as my go-to for dashboards and finance apps where the primary action or focused KPI needs gravity, but not the indigo edge you get with Royal or Cobalt. I also like it for telecom management screens and media operations control panels, especially on dark-mode timeline highlights where you want the selection to feel cool-violet first. It's the kind of color that works harder than it looks because it holds its identity under gradients.
Pair it with crisp whites and neutral grays. If you throw it next to overly blue accents, it can start to blur its purple read, like the UI is trying to pick a lane.
