Dark Galaxy
#0018a8
Near-black indigo violet for tight, high-contrast sections
About Dark Galaxy
I think of Dark Galaxy as the moment a blue turns heavy but doesn't become that ink-punched, blue-black wall. It's a deep, cool blue with a muted purple undertone that stays restrained, not playful, and it reads smoother than Cobalt and less ink-tilted than Deepsea Kraken.
This is my go-to shade for dashboards and finance apps where the primary action needs depth without looking like it's trying too hard. It holds steady for infrastructure monitoring screens and telecom management panels, especially for medium-priority states, section headers, and dense data views in dark mode. Compared to Bohemian Blue, it's less aggressively pure and more softened in tone, so it feels less "committed blue" and more controlled atmosphere.
Pair it with near-blacks and cool neutrals. If you bring in warmer accents, they'll flatten fast, so keep highlights restrained and let the shade do the work.
