Purple Noir
#322c56
Muted deep violet with smoky noir depth
About Purple Noir
Purple Noir reads like a dark studio light gel: not ink pooling, not pastry glaze, but a velvety purple that stays crisp. Compared to Deep Sea Base and Midnight Pie, it doesn't tip as far blue-cool, and it avoids the slightly cushioned, midnight-round character of those. It also doesn't flatten or turn gray-plum like the darker ends of the family can.
On dark UI, Purple Noir holds its purple identity without feeling "navy-ish." I use it for dashboards and finance apps when you need dark surfaces and controls that still look intentionally purple, especially for selected-row fills, chip backgrounds, and focus rings. It's also great in healthcare admin portals and media review interfaces where tables are dense and you want the one you reach for moments that stay readable against lots of mixed content.
One quirk: because it's a touch more subdued than Galaxea, it pairs best with cool grays and restrained off-whites so the hierarchy doesn't look heavy. If you place it next to warmer purples, it will look more grounded and less plush, fast.
