Midnight Pie
#372d52
Midtone violet with ink-cool calm and contrast
About Midnight Pie
Midnight Pie looks like a purple pastry glaze dried down: deep, but not ink-heavy and flat. Compared to Deep Sea Base, it's less blue-cooled and doesn't read like pooled pigment at the bottom of a window. Compared to Maharaja, it feels more crisp and midnight-dark, less velvet-rounded and weighty.
It lands in that tight gap where you still get a "purple" signal, but with a calmer temperature and slightly higher clarity than Galaxea. I use it for dashboards and finance apps when you need pressed controls, selected rows, and chip fills that feel secure without slipping toward navy or steel-blue. It's also a strong choice for healthcare portals and media filtering UI where borders and focus states need to hold up over mixed tables and thumbnails, with the one you reach for energy.
Quirk: Midnight Pie can run a touch cooler than your expected dark purple, so warm grays might mute it. Pair it with neutral off-whites or restrained cool grays and keep secondary text from getting too dark.
