About Cotinga Purple
Cotinga Purple is the one that actually looks like purple instead of dark blue, but it doesn't scream about it. It's cooler and less saturated than Child of the Night, which means it reads quieter, more controlled, the kind of color that sits in a dashboard without demanding you look at it. It's also noticeably darker than 20000 Leagues Under the Sea, so it disappears faster against true black, but holds better against deep grays than Black Market ever will.
Reach for this in dark mode dashboards, fintech platforms, and backend tools where you need secondary UI that feels purple but won't create that uncomfortable glow. Form fields, disabled states, subtle icon work, navigation elements that need to exist without competing. It won't punch as hard as Child of the Night, but it's steadier, less temperature-sensitive, more forgiving against mixed backgrounds. Medical software and SaaS interfaces where cool, understated hierarchy matters.
Pair it with blacks and cool neutrals and it stays grounded. Warm grays will shift it fast, so test it against your actual backgrounds first. But when it lands, it works exactly as hard as you need it to, no more.
